Boxing Day at the Farm

Gran's old bike is getting easier to peddle, now that Ana's legs have grown a bit more. What a great bike - they don't make them like that anymore... I loved it as a kid, and it is nice to see Ana loving it so much.

While Rose may still be too young for the bike, pretty much any other ride on toy is fair-game for her. And in the garden there are always footballs to kick around, even while wearing four layers.

Watch and learn

Look, Rose. You do it like this!

Ana is now a seasoned present-opener, and with such a good mentor, Rose is learning fast.

Delving deep

You can just see Ana thinking "I wonder what else could be in the bottom of this stocking?".

Christmas morning

Last Christmas Rose was only 8 weeks old and slept through most of it. This Christmas she was a much more able and willing participant!

Here she is opening one of her stocking presents by the slightly bigger Christmas tree at Gran and Grampa's house.

Unconventional Cambridge transport

When the bicycles no longer work, one has to find another means of transport... skating!

On Christmas eve Grampa wowed the neighbourhood. It is only a matter of perception to change a completely treacherous road into a skating rink on your doorstep.

Baking with Gran

Does Ana like baking with Gran???

Snow Fight!!!

So this winter we were rather dumped with snow, by English standards. The girls LOVED it. Here they are togged up in countless layers and their puddle-suits. Rose seemed unphased by the snow and got on with riding her garden-rocking horse. Ana had a better idea!

We later turned the rocking horse into a (rather unstable but fun nonetheless) sled.

Decorating the Christmas tree

So, my PhD Thesis was handed in today - what a relief! It took a whole day just to print it off (correctly)! So now that we have our evenings back, we can make a small attempt to get our blog back up to date.

So it is Christmas time again! The girls are helping decorate our little tree. When we were first married we had only four Christmas decorations - one of which was a fuzzy koala clip (now no longer treated as a Christmas decoration). Over the years we have been collecting a few more, and the girls loved helping to decorate.
