An excited Rose

On Ana's birthday morning, the lounge was filled with balloons. This made Rose rather excited!

Decorating Ana's party bags

The girls all sat in the conservatory one afternoon, decorating the party bags for Ana's fourth birthday. Here they are hard at work. The concentration in their faces, as they peeled the backing off the stickers was quite something!

Simon's 21st Birthday

So my little brother's all grown'd up! We had a lively party at Christ Church - friends, family and plenty of food!

New Years Eve

The extended Farewell family gathered in Cambridge for New Years. Here we are all sharing in a beautiful (and yummy) candlelit meal together.

What could this be?

Dressed in her new apron, Rose skillfully opens another present. Who knows what this one will be?

Rose and Grampa

With the snow melted after Christmas, Rose could have a ride with Grampa on the streets around their house. Such fun.

As Rose points out to me now, she is wearing Ana's helmet.

A whole lot of Kerridges...

and a few Meerings and Farewells...

A brief calculation by Nigel make us think there is an age span of 87 years in this photo. Longer if you count the little one in Crystal's belly there.

Music makers

Rose, Ana and Nathan all loved playing with the bright pink piano this Christmas. Sometimes one would play the piano while the others sang. Other times, like here, it would be a one-kid show.

Rose's dolly

Rose gives her special dolly from Great Nana a big hug.

Concentration

... as the presents begin!

Winter football and boule

A bit of snow is not show-stopper for summer games like boule and football.

Nathan and the snowball

Here is cousin Nathan eyeing up the photographer in a meaningful way...

The kids had such fun in the snow of Nana and Papa's garden. Ana says that they all got a bit cold.

Special juices

Christmas dinner - turkey, roast potatoes, singing carrots (roast carrots) gravy, and at least three posh juices - oh the choice!

Christmas Morning!

It seems fitting, somehow, to be posting this Christmas morning picture on Easter morning!

Ana has come downstairs to find her stocking marvellously full of exciting looking presents. Rose was more sleepy and we had to wake her up so we could all open presents together!

Rose sliding down in the snow

In the run up to Christmas we were blessed with a wonderful amount of snow. The girls particularly loved the sledging, and the snow did not stop them from playing on their 'Jungle Climber'!

... and they came to worship him...

After the service the girls rushed to the manger-side and took turns cuddling the baby Jesus doll (who was wrapped in a bath towel).

Angel

Not to be outdone by her sister, upon arrival at church for the Nativity Play, Rose made it clear that she would like to take part too. So she did.

They found an extra (very cute, and not at all terrifying) angel costume and Rose stood and flapped proudly in centre stage, completely unphased by it all.

Shepherd

When asked by her Sunday School teachers if she wanted to be in the Nativity Play, Ana answered with an emphatic assertion that she wanted to be a shepherd. And so she was. And chuffed as chips!

Rose on the computer

Rose likes helping Mummy on the computer. Here she is in December.

Almost Christmas

Ana got very excited in the run up to Christmas!

Sheep on the way to work

One frosty morning on the way to work...

Finished!

Here we are next to our tree, admiring it's beauteousness (except for the tinsel - which the girls (all three) love).

If you're small...

Look! We can hide behind and underneath the tree... then jump out!

Lara through the tree

Lara was helping the girls with the decoration of the tree. Some of those little threads are difficult to put on the spiky branches!

For days afterwards, the girls would remove most of the decorations and place them in different places -but rarely back on the tree!

Decorating the Christmas Tree

So, in early December, we sourced a lovely Christmas tree, and decorated it with our eclectic mix of decorations, and popcorn chains.

Here is Rose popping a Christmas cracker decoration. I thought it was just a decoration, but she knew better. It made a bang and came apart in her hands!
