Ana's pink shoes; Mummy's happiness. Here is a picture of Ana's first pair of proper shoes, purchased just the other day. You can see that we've gone for sensible, brown, hard-wearing shoes that will last her for the next 17 years.
...thankfully they are a lot more comfortable than Mma Makutsi's pair...

Forgive me for displaying my ignorance in all things shoe-related, but who might Mma Makutsi be?
Well, Gav, that comes from the Mma Ramotswe Books - the Number One Lady's Detective Agency, and so on. There was a book called "Blue Shoes and Happiness" in which Mma Makutsi fell in love with a rather impractical pair of blue shoes. I believe the shoes spoke to her. I'm not sure if this is a common occurance between ladies and shoes, but it might be.
